My take is that it does not have a very deep meaning, just saying something ("nice"), an "observation", making conversation. Probably she thinks you like to be perceived as honest and dependable or she wants you to be :-)

Similar things happen to me (not in a dating context). Withing the first mins. of a conversation: Oh you gained weight, oh you lost weight, oh how much is it this time!", you must be [insert conclusion]. I should not over analyze it if I were you.

As I was in Europe when this QW came out (and had a learning Chinese break for 2 weeks) I am a bit late to the party :-).

Working through my backlog of lessons, now this one pops up! As Zhen pointed out before, to my surprise: whole QW on "my question"!!!! 让我非常感动!

Thank you Cpod for the great explanations!

Hello Bodawei,

Guess it is :-) I have not been to Yunnan (yet), so I assumed it was the original. Maybe it is influenced by laowai :-) Cheese with honey / sirope is a popular combinatyion for us. I really liked it!

How about Yunnan beers / spirits? Do you know anything about that?

(I replied to Bodawei, but somehow it is Catherine, sorry for the confusion guys, could there be something wrong with the reply button?)

I tried this dish in a Yunnan rest here in Nanjing, they serve it with some honey (and the pepper). I could not believe it was a "Chinese" dish when I ate it! Very nice for cheese loving vegetarians!

Zhen, I also think I used to get the lessons in the morning around 9 in the morning. So I thought there was something wrong with the dashboard :-)
