September 7, 2010 at 3:09 AMIs there a problem with the ChinesePod site that prevents certain characters being displayed? You can see above, I cannot write 国 (zhongguodeguo) , and KentuckyfriedChinese also seems to have some problems with a few characters? 跟 (gen),翻 (fanyidefan) ??
I know this should be directed to the techies but given this is a current lesson this may get noticed. Note that the characters appear when typed, but when you post they disappear, replaced by a small box, or a single Roman letter.

September 6, 2010 at 6:23 AM最近我给我妈买了一个二手电饭煲,我从opshop那里花15澳币(90RMB)买来的,工作的很好。 在澳洲新的电饭煲花40-45澳币(250RMB)左右。

September 5, 2010 at 1:42 PMI've never personally owned a Mac. I've ardently pursued them only to be repeatedly spurned. Don't worry bill, just having a lend of you. :) You've probably had more experience with computers than any of here but I always feel compelled to open my mouth (in disbelief) when people wax lyrical about Macs. And we don't want ChinesePod to look like an advertisement for commercial interests.

September 5, 2010 at 8:49 AM哈哈,
昨晚,派出所打电话给我的房东,让他转告我们,请你们尽快去派出所登记(新延期的签证)。 我们刚刚回来中国一天。。他们很厉害对巴?
我们已经去派出所了,但派出所关门。

September 4, 2010 at 1:27 PMI want to give this lesson 'oldie but goodie' status. I have a confession to make: there are a few ChinesePod lessons that I have printed off and keep as a ready reference (covered in supplementary notes) - another one covers 'going to the bank'. This one I always shove in my back pocket when I go to the local police station, something I have done at least a dozen times. The actual conversation is rarely covered by the lesson, true, but I like to revise the lesson in my head as I walk to the station!

September 7, 2010 at 5:53 AMOh this is bad. :( I will have a look on another laptop later to check my end. At the moment I still can't see those three particular characters.
I don't know what you mean exactly about checking browser support - is there something in particular I could be checking? (I only have three characters to date that do not display.) There is no doubt that Chrome supports characters - & I have been using Chrome ever since it was released without problem. I now use it on Windows 7 but it has functioned perfectly there since February '10.
