Yeah, the only time I drink [ hot ] tea is when I go to a Chinese restaurant and then I invariably do and it's always green tea which I find quite pleasant.I remember being told as a kid that it helped digest Chinese food.Is that story still out there?
I wouldn't have milk in green tea,but if I did have black/red tea I would probably prefer it with milk.
I also actually quite enjoy the cold milk tea you can get in tetra packs to have with your snacks.I presume tea aficionados will cringe at this ,but hey,I think it tastes great.

I would have thought if you stated that you didn't want to trouble the host then they would insist that it's no trouble at all and then you would be in a position where you couldn't get out of it.Does that really work?

Thanks for that.I've had another thought for consideration.Perhaps one could specify a few "terms" that one could receive a notification about such as ones abbreviated username, nicknames,or a word of special interest like if I wanna know anytime someone discusses dami if I happen to be a rice nut.But this may be asking too much.
Have a great time celebrating dragon boat festival. :)

Buhaoyisi,sacrebleu..how could I forget though? Dang ran shi..The Great Sage Equal of Heaven;classic scene. He was so self important it was great, and the subsequent surprise.Would you believe I was trying to multitask at the time and being a mere male didn't have many spare neurons to give it much thought? You are right to chastise me.My bad :)

May 28, 2009 at 4:38 AMThough cha2,shui3,and guo3zhi1 all have tones which sort of rise at the end of the words [well with guo3zhi1 at least from the low point of the 3rd tone in guo even though it evens out at zhi1] it still sounded like the bloke in the dialogue managed to maintain the tones while at the same time put a questioning tone on top of the tones.Interesting to listen to.

Can't make out all the Hanzi, but it immediately brings to mind the initial episode of Monkey Magic where he travels to the four pillars at the edge of the Universe where he wrote something and as he was proudly reporting this to the female Buddha, she held up her hand with his writing on it,much to his amazement, hehe.Bit hazy on the details sorry.Yeah, great comeback mate, lol. :)

What's with the @me ? Are we going to start seeing you refer to yourself in the 3rd person, hehe? You may benefit from a good nights sleep mate, hopefully free of Star Trek gone bad nightmares. :)
While we're on a tea discussion, how does one say "the pot calling the kettle black" ? Is there an equivalent Chinese expression?

My preference would be that you could get a notification if your username was mentioned in any post [either by being directly addressed at the start of a post ,or anywhere within that post].It would be great if there was a box to tick in one's settings where you could request all such posts get a notification, rather than going through each thread ticking boxes.I'm personally not interested in getting a notification if a thread gets a further posting as ,especially in the active threads, this would be happening all the time and I tend to just go and read them anyway. It would be great if the notification either included the post,or had a link directly to that post so you didn't have to go searching. Also great if you could change your email address for such notifications.

So good to see you back.Hope you had an enjoyable holiday.
Another great lesson that had it all;vocab [eg 过来人],grammar patterns [不是。。而是];superb voice acting drama and dialogue, great lines[我是男人,要靠自己],and as usual always a cracker of a final line [靠自己,那你五十都讨不到老婆].Interesting topic to boot.
A's second last line seems to be implying that it is totally up to the guy and his parents to come up with the dough for the home.So I take it no part is taken by herself or her parents?
Also they keep referring to a house.I presume esp in the big cities this is almost always an apartment? How common is a house in both city and country?
Pete,
Thanks for another beaut quote
"born on third base but thought he hit a triple.".lol
