June 5, 2010 at 1:54 AMThere is a serious omission from the supplementary vocab section, namely鲨鱼杀虫剂蝙蝠喷雾【怎么说在中文?】:

June 4, 2010 at 11:19 PMthanks changye...yeah,I've gathered it includes the person spoken to. Still ,it seems to be seldom used in CPod dialogues [unless it's in advanced and media lessons] and I"m sure there have been countless situations in which women seems to have been used in this way so I'd like to get more understanding on the use of 咱们. I'd actually like a QW on it but I'm not sure if there's enough in it to pad it out to a whole QW or not.

June 3, 2010 at 9:44 AMwhat I really wanna know is while it's protecting you from all outside threats, whether it also has the capability to reflect back all the Chinese that's constantly trying to escape my head...think I'll give it a shot and see [hope there are no untoward side effects ..like Chinese pronounced backwards or reversed tones]

June 3, 2010 at 5:14 AMNothing wrong with your written chinese
..I see what you mean, but of course this is not true...I think it's just that in general you have to be quite a way ahead of someone to spot their mistakes and esp to correct them with confidence and thus the reluctance of many a poddie to jump in and help correct for fear of leading another up the garden path..thus the reliance on the CPod staff.
that I can't learn what people like you have to say.
..have you thought of downloading a free popup translator? ..makes things much easier. In the meantime if you just wanna get the gist of what someone's on about you can often get a rough [though inaccurate ] idea of what they're on about by copying and pasting to an online translator such as this one:
http://www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindict.php?page=translate
For example ,with what I had above, this translator rendered it as:
I hate the pest is the mosquito, the mosquito is a severe disease because sick, such as malaria, dengue fever, Japanese encephalitis, and so on. And here】 【Australia we have, "Ross River fever" 【how to say in Chinese "Ross River Fever"?]. So I think the mosquito is the number one enemy of mankind
..which as you see is not exactly what I was trying to say but it gives you a pretty good idea. Partly this can be my grammar issue, but also you will find similar inaccuracies in translation even of correctly written Chinese. Suffice to say I think it's enough to see if the topic is interesting enough to try and decipher further. I must say I don't bother with this method anymore...I just rely on my popup translator to help where necessary.

June 5, 2010 at 12:51 PMbut only if Alfred Hitchcock had made 'The Moths' instead of 'The Birds' could I imagine myself worried by them
..hehe,yeah but then Mel Brooks would have come along with a moth instead of a bird scene in High Anxiety:

...and the guys coat would have been taken to the dry cleaners powdery instead ,and we could have a good laugh. :)
