I knew it, I knew it about you.
Personally I'd go for the gorilla. That episode of the Simpsons where Homer is found in the wild and they are debating whether he's a very stupid human or a genius beast has inspired me to aim for the latter.

June 6, 2011 at 4:20 AMI tend to hear "alrighty" or "right oh"...I prefer the former ...I think it's more positive and can be said enthusiastically.

June 6, 2011 at 4:15 AMhaha, classic.
Yeah, I just heard about Li Na last night. That should give tennis a boost in China. Where's our poddie mate wangqiu?
"Girls in China do not really like sport"
..wow, that's a big statement.
btw I gather your surprise was because basketball in China is big but you'd never seen netball played there. In Australia of course it wouldn't be surprising at all.

June 6, 2011 at 3:41 AM哈哈大笑, yeah, you've got me worried now...maybe he'll come and eat my money or something even more dastardly and words to placate him fail me. What does one say to placate such a noble mythological creature?

June 6, 2011 at 2:44 AMthanks cinnamonfern...you know I was just waiting for someone to correct me/ set me straight because in my mind it looked more like a cat and I wondered if I was jumping to the wrong conclusion. Yep, that's the one...there's obviously more than one critter that can get the cash flowing in, hehe.
I have seen that pixiu guy above too...I just thought maybe he could morph a bit, hehe

June 6, 2011 at 12:26 AMhehe, I reckon if Jason were to sit a Rorschach test, everything he saw would either look like beer or a road to the brewery/pub deng deng. [Reminds me of an episode of Get Smart where Max was observing one of his buddies sitting it and everything his mate saw was related to sex...Max scoffed [the plot was it was in Control's favour if his mate was found not of sound mind] and the psychiatrist confirmed they were indeed such pics and Max's sanity was then under question, hehe]

June 6, 2011 at 12:22 AMGreat topic guys. I've seen this fella in Chinese businesses and had it explained to me about bringing the money in. I've often seen pixiu sitting on it's nonexistent pigu [don't worry, I get it] and with one of it's forelimbs waving back and forth and this has been explained as also waving the money in.

June 6, 2011 at 6:51 AMJenny,
why was it unimaginable? ...is this Chinese 谦逊 qiānxùn [humility] on a national scale? I can't imagine it being unimaginable [sure it might not have seen imminent at that time]
