ok, well there's nothing too ambiguous about "I miss Hong Kong" but bear with me if you will.....the photo you refer to...you're in a plane heading for China and you fly low as you approach China....hey HK is approaching but hang on, do you like Shanghai? yes! so you keep heading north as you skim above and narrowly "miss" XiangGang. So here's an example of where the Chinese xiǎng can verify/clarify the English meaning, had there been any doubt, hehe. btw, I haven't listened to this lesson yet, so I've no idea why theres a XiangGang avatar...I presume it's setting the scene.

So, tell us poddies, have you ever had the experience where Chinese has verified the English?
