If you're refering to the talk of meinu, I guess it's more to do with the fact that Chinese people in general aren't all that polictically correct and Chinesepod merely reflects that, which I appreciate nonetheless. It's good to have dialogues demonstrating the way Chinese people actually talk, not some cleaned-up, sanitized version.

I'd just like to add, one reason that standards are slipping could be that there are so many new lessons all the time! I can't speak for everybody, but I think 2 new lessons per level each week should be plenty.

Isn't a better translation, 'His girlfriend is having an affair with the boss'?

I don't get why 上司 is translated as 'someone else', nor why the translation is in the past tense.

Yeah, I'm not sure about this, but it seems the word Jenny describes in the lesson is 品味, meaning taste (as in, taste in women), and this is a different word 品位 meaning 'class' or 'grade'. Both can be used to describe a man, I guess (I.e., he has no taste / he's low-class).
