The word 所 is actually an interesting topic in the community of teaching Chinese and is still commonly discussed among teachers. Let's take your sentence as an example.

安同杀了我爱的人 vs 安同杀了我所爱的人

Think about these two sentences, what is the difference? The 所 in the latter sentence is emphasizing the person 安同 killed is the exact same person with the person I love. The word 所 can add into the sentence and has a slight effect on the meaning. So is it correct that we can omit or add 所 in most situations? Let's see these examples below.

刚刚我说的话都是真话 vs 刚刚我所说的话都是真话

我吃了弟弟爱吃的饼干 vs 我吃了弟弟所爱吃的饼干

我在纸上写了妈妈爱吃的菜 vs 我在纸上写了妈妈所爱吃的菜
