July 22, 2010 at 9:33 PMThis is a question about Skitter. I tried Skitter out. But as I began to use the program I realized I had no strategy for the order of strokes. Can someone refer me to a tutorial on the order of strokes in writing Chinese characters?

July 9, 2010 at 10:13 AMReally find this approach to learning Chinese useful.
Would like to make one comment that entered my consciousness and was confusing.
Lily, nˇı ga ̄ng la ́i Zho ̄ngguo ́ de sh ́ıhou, x ́ıgua`n ma? Lily, when you just came to China, were you used to it?
The idea that a person just came to China, means they just came; so can they be used to it when they just came, ie no experience with the culture how can it be said that a person is used to it?
A little confusion there. And, it may be a part of the mystery of Chinese.

July 4, 2010 at 9:59 PMFor me, best lesson yet. How about asking Jenny to read the Expansion section one time, maybe on Christmas or New Year's Day. :)

June 22, 2010 at 6:33 AMVery happy with this lesson.
It deals with tones in a practical way. Nice!
The premium content has several readers giving a variety of voices. Excellent. I have my favorite.
This lesson shows the beauty and rhythm of the language which I do hope can be enhanced as often as possible. You do know this is a beautiful sounding language, right?
Anyway, since you cannot hear us speak you don't know whether we are pronouncing the words correctly or with the right rhythm, cadence, and flow. I think this is difficult to do with an online medium. For that is needed a one on one instructor.

June 8, 2010 at 2:11 PMKudos to the expansion reader. The tones and pronunciation are clear; keeps the rhythm of the language and lets it flow as it should. It really is a beautiful language and a poor reader does not do it justice. Remember we mimick these sound units in order to speak the language. If we mimick poor enunciation we learn it. Thanks C-Pod team.

July 22, 2010 at 9:38 PMI think your point is taken and of course, I realize the limitations of online learning. There are trade-offs right. For example. No getting up at 6:00 am to ready oneself for class.
One anecdote. I sat in on a 1st grade class that happened to be studying Chinese and actually participated in the class with the other first graders. The tones were so clear and really beautiful as spoken by the teacher and children. This was one of the things that motivated me to begin studying Chinese.
Interesting you should use the word internalize. I am a learner. And I would like to hear more of your thoughts on the value and meaning of internalizing. It surely is much more than the dictionary definition of the word.
