March 12, 2023 at 9:01 PMHello, thank you Chinesepod, for making me smile again with another amusing dialogue.
I just have one question, regarding this line:
你想,买了以后,就要烫衣服,多麻烦!
According to the given translation he is expressing his own opinion, so why does he say '你想' instead of ’我想'?

October 11, 2022 at 7:24 PMBut don't we say 上课, to mean to start class? Doesn't this sentance mean 'when I'm at class I liked to listen to music?': 上课的时候我喜欢听音乐

October 11, 2022 at 7:17 PMHi, I'm a beginner trying to move into intermediate. But one big struggle I have is dealing with the large number of meanings a single pinyin can have, and context can only get you so far. However, this is further exacerbated when pin yins aren't pronounced how I'd expect them to be. For example, at 8:27 in this dialogue Jenny says the Chinese for “upgrade” is "shang cang". She says it's the "shang" from "wan shang" - if I'm not mistaken.
But when she says it, it doesn't sound like "shang" but more like "shen". Could someone actually listen to this part of the dialogue and tell me why she's pronouncing it that way?

September 26, 2022 at 8:50 PMHi, still some blank entries in the dialogue. Also, I was hoping to see 'fú' in the expansion section but there are none

September 12, 2022 at 12:07 AMHello. Regarding the first line: 我上大学的时候很喜欢听音乐
Couldn't this also be interpreted as "When I'm at college, I really like to listen to music"?

August 4, 2022 at 11:53 PMHello! I've listened to the line where he allegedly says '还要等多长时间' at least 50 times but he definitely doesn't say 长. Is this a common abbreviation amongst native speakers? Even so, I don't think we should be exposed to such shortcuts at this level as we're still learning basic vocabulary and word order and it will only confuse hinder learning.

July 29, 2022 at 9:30 PMHi there. I noticed in the dialogue, the man says "哪有时间" meaning "where is the time". But from previous lessons I understood, 哪 means "which" and 哪里 means "where". So shouldn't the sentence be "哪里有时间" instead?

July 9, 2022 at 7:23 PMHello, firstly really love your podcast. I've been listening to it for some months and have learnt so much already. So keep up the good work!
However, I encountered a word in this dialog that got me somewhat perplexed: zěnyàng. Is this equivalent to zěn me yàng? In any case, why was it not explained in the episode? I'm familiar with "zenme yang" and just "zenme", but I don't believe I've come across this word before in previous lessons.
