Would it be possible to get some help parsing the expansion sentence:

你十一点的飞机，现在去来得及

nǐ shíyī diǎn de fēijī, xiànzài qù láidejí

Is there some guideline on why the word for airplane can be used here instead of the word for "flight"? Would 航班 hángbān be wrong here, or could either be used? 

Could it have been 飞机十一点起飞，fēijī shíyī diǎn qǐ fēi instead? Or would that be idomatically incorrect because it refers too specifically to the time the airplane takes to the air and be more idiomatic to refer to a departure time?

For what it's worth, in some regions of the U.S. the term "thongs" does in fact refer to flip-flops as well as the particular style of ladies' unmentionables. If I recall correctly from my college days in North Carolina they called them that there (also, "shower shoes"). I do sometimes hear people call them that here in California too, though rarely.

You might sometimes hear a southern lady say "thong shoes" as a kind of workaround, but it does sound kind of prudish.
