I live 300 miles from Chicago but never seem to see any of it except the airport. Yase- the "untouchables" was my absolute favorite show growing up. My father and I used to watch this every week. It was Robert Stack who played Elliot Ness. There is still an underground series of tunnels and party rooms in Chicago that used to connect the bars and "speak-easy's" above for easy escape. Because of Ness I wanted to be an FBI agent, but secretly, I wanted to be a gangster. :-)

Brent, perhaps the cat would do better on the Jenny craig diet? Have you considered liposuction or maybe gastric bypass? -:) I used to have a beautiful maine coon cat just as fat with 3 inch thick fur to boot. Result - spherical cat. She used to go for walks with me and dart from bush to bush along the houses on my route. When I got to the edge of her "territory" she would wait for me on the corner to return and them accompany me the rest of the way home.

xiaoqiao, thats a lot of hanzi for a newbie lesson and a lot for me to digest. I think you are saying dogs are for men and cats for women. Dogs are to be tamed and cats to be played with and a man marries a woman to play with her and a women marries a man to tame him. :-) did I get any of that right?

looks underfed Brent. I grew up with a dog and always thought like Ken and Jenny, that cats didnt have much personality and were not social until I took one in. They actualy have very distinct personalities and are much fun. They are more subtle and independent than dogs. Dogs are all kiss-asses but you have to earn a cats respect. :-)

matthiask- I hear it the same way. Two out of three of the expansion sentences dealing with 好像 I can not hear the ng. The ng is very slight and they are speaking quickly but I cant hear it either. It must be our ears.
