Posted on: Ending Your Sentence with 吧 (ba)
December 11, 2008 at 12:29 AMchangbiyuan,
I joke about it because its just so strange to my ear. Its not used here and I never hear it. Butt and mom are the analagous words here. Now I say 屁股 of course.

December 10, 2008 at 10:28 AMOne of the plants I work at always serves us coffee in a small ring pull cans at lunch. Cream and sugar already added and at room temp. Yuk. Coffee in a can? I love my coffee in the morning but I drink green tea the rest of the day. I have a chinese tea glass with a screen and I use the loose long jing tea that I buy in China. I always get strange reactions to this habit in the states. Here they only know tea bags.
Has anyone ever tried kopi Luwak coffee? Recently made famous by the movie "the bucket list". The beans are eaten by small animals and the coffee is made after the beans travel through the intestinal tract of these little beasts. It is supposed to impart a unique flavor to them (they do not digest but there are some chemical changes). This stuff is about $200 US a pound and I am very curious. I think this is an Indonesian thing. I am tempted to use our coffee fund money to buy a sample, but my coworkers do not share my curiosity.

On Oct 19th 2008 you said:
"Right now the videos are missing some of the features of full lessons: dialogue tab, full transcript in the PDF, difficulty level, etc. This is partly due to an insufficiently flexible backend production system. We're finishing up an upgrade now (it's 80% done), which will allow full support for things like transcripts."
What is the completion date on this project?

you are right. I too love the "小笼包" (xiao long bao). We call them "dragon balls". My all time favorite food in SH.
