I have to agree. I believe Lei Feng was real (thanks davidmitchel) but the story may have been embelished a little. As we used to say, they put a little "relish" on it. I have to wonder though, why it would be so hard to prove the existence of someone who lived so recently. Is there no family? No grave? No records? I still like the hat.:-)

I usually think of the hold definition attributed to na as grasp as in take hold of that and give it to me. I have not seen it used differently. Perhaps to say what you want you need another verb such as 握。I am guessing - we need some native support here or maybe Changye has some insight? So what you want to know is how to say "hold my hand" or "please hold this steady for me." And you want to know if na can be used in this way. Correct?

I have every confidence that you will adjust. With the talent you have to work with, that should be easy. You are all our heros.

The comments are misplaced here. If you notice the names are in black which means they were created before and migrated after the last big upgrade. Notice the date on the lesson is sept 2006 and the date on the first comment is nov 2005. Hmmm. Iceberg (upgrade) collateral damage Id say. A minor thing however.

another translation of na is fetch, take or get in addition to hold as you just discussed. I believe the rest is all context. If you are pointing at the salt when you say that well then...... If you are putting up a tent....
My Chinese friends have told me that often what the speaker says can have a double meaning. They will laugh sometimes and it takes the speaker a minute to realize what else could be meant by what they just said. Thats Chinese. It happens in English too but not as often I dont think.

What some of the lighter users dont realize is that this was not about one weak show, that happens, so what. The criticism comes from a percieved policy change regarding the ongoing content of the show, and we wanted you to know how we felt about that. The same is ammunition for your next discussion with the suits re content. If it were not an avalanche, it would be ignored. Its not about the players, they do what they are told. Given the right direction and support they do a stellar job and have proven themselves time and time again. At least that was my motivation and if anyone was hurt by that it was not intentional. On the contrary, I would think some of them probably made the same complaint internally, before we did. This is in support of them.
