is the entire sentence that I suggested: 别怕，我是会保护你的人。
I would suggest that it carries precisely the same meaning.
I would also suggest that in all sentences that apparently end with 的, the 的 is followed by an implied noun, even in patterns where such a noun is rarely used.
No doubt the sentence does carry the feeling you suggest, but I'm someone who only picks up feelings from true meaning.

June 30, 2015 at 12:11 PMThen ..... why don't all sentences end with 的 ? Surely there must be something which makes it applicable here but not applicable elsewhere. It feels to me like the sentence is saying:
"我是(会保护你)的人"
