I've had this experience and at the time I didn't know about this. I wanted to work with someone and I thought it would be in there interest too, they would always agree to do it, but never any action. It dragged on for 3 months. I tried to give them an easy out too, like "if you don't want to it's fine" kinda thing. They would always agree, eventually I just gave up on it.  

He's a really nice person, it was just this cultural difference. 

Thanks for putting this in the lesson.

If you want to download Chinese pod software, just download at "app store", it's really easy/convenient. At the "app store" search "Chinese pod" then click the button. If you haven't registered, you will have to after clicking it. I am very happy you want to learn Chinese. Study well!

I thought towards the end of the lesson that they were going to mention that white clothes are not appropriate because white is typically worn during funerals.

I've come across some embarrasing situations, like don't wear a white head band (worn after someone passes), wife to be at the time wore a white dress to our engagement dinner, parents were angry, it didn't matter that it was a beautiful dress.

Anyone else had similar cultural mistakes?
