September 7, 2007 at 4:36 AMLOT's BUCKS - Hi tucsonmike, I also think it's a bit crazy to pay 24 kuai for coffee, but I also have to factor in that Starbucks sells an experience. The cost to import materials, building out the store, extra training, cleanliness, furnishings, etc., justify the price. Actually, I think prices in China should go up, as currently low prices reflect low wages and lower quality materials. Okay, back to my $1.20 for 10 packets of S'pore coffee from the local mart.
