July 5, 2011 at 7:00 AM等 (děng) simply means "to wait (for)." It is not normally used all by itself as a command, though.
等等 (děngdeng) means "to wait a little while (for)." It can be used as a command in itself (simply meaning, "wait").

这是我自己的想法。 (zhè shì wǒ zìjǐ de xiǎngfǎ)
...or:
我自己的想法是⋯⋯ (wǒ zìjǐ de xiǎngfǎ shì...)
想法 (xiǎngfǎ), literally "way of thinking," can be used to express "view" or "idea."
