I always have to specifically ask the barbers NOT to make my head super-fuzzy. They tend to like to go crazy with the thinning shears for a "buby duck" look...

Good explanation for Taipan, Amber. It's almost as if you had me in mind when writing those sample sentences... as tall as I am, they apply quite well to my wife and me!

architpol, 礼貌 (lǐmào) can mean both "manners" as well as "polite." So when you hear 没有礼貌 (méiyǒu lǐmào) or 没礼貌 (méi lǐmào), it actually means "to not have manners." 不礼貌 (bù lǐmào), then, would be "not polite." I hope that makes it clearer.

Bazza, Ha ha, I thought you were going to mention your own Shanghai "BSR" experience. You had to wait almost an hour for your food, but at least the staff were nice (if infernally slow...).

Well, you can't please everybody... We've gotten feedback from users that especially like the 八卦周刊 (bāguà zhōukān) series. The point is to teach pop culture celebrity names and slang.

jenny, Exactly... Every time we go to our local BSR and the service is OK, we leave disappointed, because we go there for the stories! (Although the "OK service" doesn't happen often, mind you...)
