The video shows Traditional characters, so the word for door would be 門. If you have (like me) chosen Simplified characters in your preferences, then on the vocabulary list it will show the simplified form: 门.

katherine912213867, 如果你碰到愿意上ChinesePod的学习中文的女生,麻烦你鼓励她们赶快给ChinesePod发简历:hr@chinesepod.com

我不知道为什么,但是ChinesePod真的缺少这样的人才。如果你碰到你觉得合适的人,请你给她们跟ChinesePod联系的建议!

Constance says:

这课我们要学:是、不是

Zhèi kè wǒmen yào xué:shì, búshì

This class, we will learn: am, am not

Note that the word 这 (this) can be pronounced either as zhè or zhèi. In this case, Constance said zhèi.

It's great to see a comment on one of my favorite series! Looking at that sentence, I would translate it the way you did.

You'll definitely run into it. It happened to me just a couple weeks ago: I was at a dumpling-making activity for Chinese New Year, and I told one of the hosts that we were almost out of filling - xiànr (馅儿). The poor guy did a double take, not quite sure what I meant. Then he suddenly realized, "Oh, xiàn (馅)." He went to get more. He is of course a southerner.

That tends to be a regional thing. Northerners are more free with their use of the "r" sound (儿化音), and southerners rarely use it. I went to school in the north, so I was taught that there are particular instances where the 儿 is required in order to be correct. When I then moved south after graduation, I had people correcting me all the time, trying to get me to get rid of my 儿's.

Now whenever I open my mouth, I try to remember whether I'm talking to a northerner or a southerners so that I can stay out of the argument!

I see that too. Have you tried reporting it with the "Report a Mistake" button?

Sounds like he's a part of the 月光族 - spends his entire salary every month. So if the paycheck is a day late, he's toast!
