That is fine after I have learned the new material, but I need silence when hearing words for the first time.

But if that is the idea of the music, I'm wondering why music isn't played over the review sentences in the Audio Review Podcast. Wouldn't it make much more sense to add the distraction there AFTER we have learned the material for the first time?

Yes, I also find the background music extremely annoying and distracting. And it adds nothing to the learning experience.
