This lesson features lots of vocabulary that is seldom seen in modern Chinese so we thought it would be better to put this in advanced level. If you can understand everything in the dialogue and the lesson, then good job! Do you have a guess as to what the main message of this article is?

That's an interesting question! Although most of the time Chinese people take off their shoes when entering the house, it depends on the house rule and not every household has the same rule.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to listen to it again and taking the timestamps down! I listened to it and looked out for the "high frequency" crackles you mentioned, but to be honest I didn't notice anything strange or any crackles. I listened to this with my earphone. Did you notice the same noises at the exact same timestamps when you first listened to it? If anyone else has this issue, please let me know.

Hello both, thank you for letting me know, there seemed to be something wrong with the lesson, but I just published it again, and it is now available in both dashboards.

Hello, good question! I can understand where you're coming from and it can be quite confusing. The 给 in the following 2 sentences both are used to introduce an indirect object but they also mean "for". In the sentence "你这位全能助理是怎么给老板挑酒的呀?", the latter part of the sentence can be interpreted as "select the wine for the bus". As for "给他选瓶价格到顶、年份最老的红酒就是了!", you can translate it as "choose a wine that's expensive and old for him". I hope this is clearer!
