Bus announcements

March 11, 2010, 04:44 AM posted in General DiscussionDoes anyone know the whole story on bus announcements - I am sure that it has been covered somewhere on ChinesePod. A search for bus brings up 36 lessons but none seem promising in this respect. I still miss some of the recitation - in particular there is an expression [什么什么]非常 wu ping/wu pin. 物品 does not seem to fit. Anyone help?

Ha ha - I'm not too good with pinyin on its own but is that your local bus? You must be a regular. In Hangzhou they tell you to be careful getting off and use the pedestrian crossing! As if. Yes, that's what I mean but I want to know about the [什么什么]非常 wu ping/wu pin line.

Is it possible to post sound files on ChinesePod?

March 13, 2010, 06:24 PMMaybe it is a 'warm tip' to look after your things? I'm not sure, I get distracted by the fact that the English says "get ready to take off" (how fast does this bus go?) and forget to pay attention to what is said in Chinese.

March 11, 2010, 06:15 AMYou mean like "wǒmen wáng yī fēn dào le. Qíng zài qiánhòumén xià chē. Xià yī zhàn máizidiànxī jiē" kind of thing? I don't think there's a lesson on those kinds of bus announcements. I remember looking for one, and making a suggestion that Cpod create one.
