in this lesson why is butai 4th tone, 4th tone instead of 2nd tone, 4th tone?

Hey thanks!  My tones are def. weak.  Do you know of a chinese character software for windows vista?  or how do you type actual characters in your emails?

If you're refering to the Dialogue link, 不太 bùtài, is writen with 4 and 4, yet as you say, the actual pronunciation is 2 and 4. 不太 pinyin shouldn't be written 2 and 4, but 4,4
