Would it be possible to devise a vocabulary activity whereby students could match up all three words (Hanzi/PinYin/English)?

I find that I'm fine matching pinyin to English, but it's difficult to make the Hanzi symbols stick.

I'm reaching this conversation rather late, but Anki has just what you describe. You can create flashcards with hanzi, pinyin, and translation. When reviewing, the program will drill you on all elements.

Have you seen the ChinesePod UserVoice forum? It is probably the best place to make suggestions on how ChinesePod can improve.

You will also find several other ideas from members and you can vote for those you would like to see implemented.
