Jingdu Q Bar

December 01, 2008 at 05:54 PM posted in General DiscussionThe Jindgu(=Kingdom) is an unrated hotel. They have applied for a five star rating. I met the manager tonight (around midnight). His name is Allen. The lights had been turned off and I was sitting in the dark. He noticed I was sitting in my usual spot in the hotel lobby next to the electric outlet. He has seen me before. In fact, I asked one of his girls to translate one of Sissi's messages and Allen helped. A very handsome guy, 40-something. I suspect he is the Hotel general manager. His English is pretty good.
The hotel has basically shut off all the unprotected WiFis, so I just use the Jingdu to charge my batteries. There is a very strong signal coming from the lounge, the Q Bar, but it is protected with a key. Allen invites me to sit in the bar and gives me the key 'king coffee 88231.' The key doesn't seem to work and Allen calls IT to come down and give me the connection. I let the IT guy enter the key into my 'Connect' screen so I don't know what the actual key is. He says it is 88231 but that is not long enough and keywords normally do not allow spaces. No problem. Windows remembers the keys once you've connected to a network. Now I can get a free, premium connection at this hotel through this router even from the lobby.
Allen asks me for my business card. I have several Dos cards from Taizhou with the school's phone number. Allen is impressed. He asks me if I would mind giving the hotel staff English lessons. "Of course not" I say. "I'd love to!" The business card is proof of authenticity, even though I don't work there anymore. I hope they give Dos in Taizhou a call and ask them about the terms. The Yihe is also interested in English lessons for its staff. The Yindu already has a teacher, a Canadian. What about the Yiwu? I know the manager there too, Prince Hu. I think I will have these cards duplicated by an Yiwu printer exactly as they are. 非常好 'Feichanghao' is my Chinese name printed on the back of the card. I left the original box of 500 in Taizhou. I didn't think I would need them. I'm still not thinking about work.
The WiFi is working now. The antenna is in the ceiling about ten yards away, signal strength is Very Good and Speed is 36 Mbps... Now this is luxury! Plenty of light, plush seats, tables, electricity.... The bar is in the center of the lounge, staffed with three pretty girls and a yound man, the bartender. Behind the bar there are two TVs, one with HBO and the other TVE "Television Espagnol." The girls are serving me free hot water. I am coughing - in day three of my cold, the dry coughing stage: the runny nose is over... Around 1 am the sexy waitress comes over to me and says, "Excuse me. I must go sleeping now..." The young woman reminds me, "You can stay here as long as you like, Goodnight." She smiles when I say, "Sweet dreams." I want to give her a good night kiss but I can't so I say, "You're beautiful" as she hops away. She smiles. She is dressed in a Mandarin frock, a skirt which is split up each side. Her legs are bare essentially to her waist, long muscular thighs and calves.... The skirt is so tight she has to skip in tiny steps to get away.
The lounge staff has disappeared. Only the cleaning lady remains. She is vacuuming.
Now even she is gone. Perfect peace and quiet. Jesus, I guess I can stay her all night if I want too. I have a fresh cup of hot coffee to southe my cough, but what I really need is menthol cough drops. I'll buy some tomorrow.
