Getting organised in Chinese!
ratatouille
February 20, 2008 at 04:03 PM posted in General DiscussionI have started using a moleskin notebook as a sort of personal organiser and I was thinking it would be good prectice to use chinese to write down the recurring stuff that typically gets written into this sort of thing.
Priority
Waiting
Doctor's visit
get groceries
Follow-up
Project
do laundry
pick up dry cleaning
Someday/Maybe
Inbox
Completed
Being outside China it is also a good way to add a layer of privacy to my notebook if I misplace it.

In the west we say "as easy as ABC" whereas in the east I wonder should that be changed to "as easy as XYZ" because of the number of words that use these letters as initials. Just a thought.

Thanks again Casie - you are brilliant. I dig your new photo. Sleep well.
(I was going to ask how to say "book a wake up call" but I better stop now!)

no Casie I need your great talent to provide the individual words that might be used regularly in a filofax. For example, Doctor Visit and then after the visit you might pencil in "done" or "postponed". I just want to get my lazy hanzi hand working and not be relying on keyboards all the time! This should be as easy as ABC for you!

uh, of course my passwords aren't written in my phone (I have a notepad and all that to sync with outlook in my Nokia N70)

yeah, I keep my cell phone (bought in China) in Chinese so the menus and screen would be extremely hard to navigate through if someone stole it and didn't know exactly how to use that make an model. I also put clues to my passwords, etc. in Chinese, but the passwords are English words, so quite more safe then if all in English.

February 22, 2008 at 12:45 PMWow, I think Cassie is like a human dictionary more than anything, ha ha. I have to say thanks to you too, Cassie, since I didn't know a bunch of those words. Very good. :)
