May 07, 2014, 02:34 AM posted in ChinesePod Mobile AppsHi there,
My name is Yi. I am the iOS developer for the ChinesePod iOS app. ChinesePod iOS app is now going through a major update. As you can see in the latest version of the app the front page has changed from the previous dashboard style to a grid view main screen with side menus. We have also updated the app to use more iOS 7 features to give our users better experience that iOS 7 has promised to bring to us.
Sorry to lose the "back" button in the previous update but we have fixed that issue in the latest version. Please update to the latest version if you haven't done that. During this major update process there might be some issues that we are unable to catch sight of, but we are always striving to produce a great app for our users. Thank you for your valuable feedbacks and supporting us.
Best,
Yi

May 08, 2014, 01:37 AMIf you can figure out a way of jumping foward in the vocabulary flash cards that would be great. I don't shuffle my cards. I'm trying to go through 140 odd cards in one desk, so it's frustrating to swipe to the 100th so I can carry on where I left off.

In Pleco you can always resume a flashcard test where you left off. Plus it's spaced repetition, so better for memorization. CPod supports (or at least used to support -- not sure if the feature still exists) export of CPod vocabulary lists to Pleco.

Really? I'll see if such export feature still exists. Thanks!

May 09, 2014, 06:08 AMNext release will fix the following issues:
- Collapsing rows in Expansion, Grammar and Dialogue panel will leave the previous displayed translation texts on screen.
- Uploading audio/video files on practice panel will crash.
New features:
- In-app-purchase features.

Thanks for this. Can you let us know when the next release will come out? I mean general timeframe, like 12 or 13 May.
I think users understand that software release dates can slip, so if there is a slip, its fine. Just let us know. In this way, Cpod can set and manage user expectations. Thanks for your work doing this; users are always tough people to deal with!!!

podster
In app purchases might be a nice feature for non-subscribers who want to buy lessons "a la carte" However, for current subscribers I think that app users should be able to keep their subscribed content permanently, not have it disabled within the user's own mobile device after the subscription period.
