But Bazza, if everybody keeps posting to this thread won't you remain in top anyway? ;-)

Let's see, calkins. From this point onwards I'll see if I can just lurk in this section until 30th Jan. ;)

The MAU algorithm is a myth. These are random numbers that John Pasden and Dave Lancanshire came up with one day using a set of old D&D dice they found in Clay's luggage. Clay, for his part, denies any ownership of the things.
Rumor has it that Bazza keeps ranking so high because he has pictures of the boys in cosplay costumes.

"hoisted by my own petard"...haven't heard that one in a while.
Bazza, you couldn't take a week off from CP even if Maye Choo and Maggie Q. demanded your attention 24 hours a day for that week!
Out of curiousity, how does the MAU algorithm work?

I should probably take a week off, let you rest of you catch up. ;)

Hehe. You're right. Not to mention the fact that every reply I put here only adds to his score as well. Curses! Hoist by my own petard!
(What's a "petard" anyway, and why do I have one? I don't remember buying any petard the last time I was at the store...)

Frank, one more and you break 100...but I think you need about 674,821 more to catch up with baz!

Shhhhhh. I know! It's just so much fun to tease him and further increase my standings on the MAU board at the same time! Mwahahahaha!

Frank, I think he's blaming you because you mentioned food...then I hijacked his thread with stinky tofu;)

You blame me for the flood?! I think you overestimate my powers, mate! :-D

MUCH worse than durians. A similar taste effect--initially "Oh, that's not so strong", then the strong part hits you.
I didn't realize chodofu could LOOK so appetizing, however!
I actually didn't mind the smell of stinky tofu much--until I tried it. And I'm sorry, but I thought it tasted absolutely terrible. For the next day, no matter what I ate, no matter how many times I brushed my teeth, everything tasted like stinky tofu. Now I can't stand the smell because it reminds me of the taste! (I've tried it a couple of times since with similar effects.)
Durians are fine. Not great, but fine.
The flooding looks awful. Be safe.

It's one of those smells that hits you hard at first, but then you get used to it. It's pretty much found in China, Taiwan, and Indonesia (very easy to find at street markets)....so you'll have to wait until your trip in March!

Seriously, worse than durians, the smelliest fruit on the planet? I see this as a personal challenge :D Is 臭豆腐 a regional speciality or can I get it anywhere?

sebire...remember those words the first time you encounter stinky tofu. You will eat them...the words that is:)

It doesn't look smelly. I bet it's not that bad - I like durians after all!

Yikes! Be careful driving around in that Bazza.
Frank, I'm all for seeing Bazza's food, but I'm not sure I want to see his food from yesterday.

lustchina, the smell is absolutely abhorrent...but the taste is pure heaven! If your nose can get past the smell, your taste buds will be rewarded.

Bazza,
You're new profile photo looks intense. Are you sure you didn't cause the flood in a Damien "Omen" kind of way - a bad case of the mundies? :-)

Calkins,
My empty stomach is flooding with gastric juices at the sight of such a dish. How does it taste?

very very strange. My post keeps getting cut off. I'll try one more time. It should say "臭豆腐...chòudòufu...stinky tofu" and have a delicious photo of stinky tofu. Sorry if it doesn't post.

It's pretty much all gone down today. I've no idea where it all when cause that's a hell of a lot of water.
Henning, it's higher round the other side of the building so it was dry there.

This leaves the question how you actually got to your non-flooded office floor. By boat or swimming?
By the way: If one takes away all the water, it looks as if you work in a real nice environment.

January 24, 2008 at 03:28 PMWhew...I have to admit I was a little worried yesterday because you were M.I.A. for almost 24 hours. I'm happy you broke down and gave back in to your addiction:P
