December 24, 2012, 12:47 AMWow. This must have been a case of a few people complaining and the majority not saying anything before. . .because it worked fine. For anyone who seriously works through the lessons and likes to keep his/her own lessons organized, this is a huge disappointment. I don't see what's so difficult about having both pages, or why the lesson management page was taken down instead of the self-study page. My biggest issue with the self-study page is that it seems there's no way to organize lessons effectively and quickly, i.e. moving them from my bookmarked (and unstudied) section to the studied one.

I agree. If any ChinesePod staff are in this week, please, please, give serious consideration to restoring the labelling function. ChinesePod now contains a vast ocean of material. The labelling function allows one to select and sort this wonderful resource to fit one's own individual needs.

I third this...

I was removing the lessons as I finished them, and there used to be a list to see what lessons remained. I agree, the old system was better and should be restored if possible.

The manage board really was good for figuring out how many lessons you had queued, but also to see how many you had studied already. On the dashboard, it says that I've studied 453/391 Newbie lessons and 559/492 Elementary lessons. I know that I've studied all of those lessons, but I'm not sure where the extra hundred or so came from.

A slightly belated Happy New Year to the team and the poddies. I was wondering if any steps were being taken to reinstate the manage lessons/labelling function. I would greatly appreciate hearing from the technical team whether it is something you are planning to try and reinstate, or if I must abandon all hope of getting my study system back. I confess my primary motivation is my own selfish needs, but from ChinesePod's point of view, I do believe that by abandoning this self-management aspect, you have lost an important part of your unique appeal and ability to adapt to the widely differing needs of your student body.

January 18, 2013, 08:41 AMHi, I was wondering what steps, if any, the technical team was taking to restore some kind of labelling and lesson-management system? Am I the only poddie who really misses this aspect of Chinesepod? The individual dialogues are still great, of course, but I am no longer able to use them efficiently, organising them to match my evolving needs. Maybe there is some other way of doing this that I have missed.

February 04, 2013, 06:27 AMHello, I have two related questions. First, will ChinesePod be reintroducing the labelling function? As I have said before, I really miss this function that allowed me to sort the lessons according to my own criteria. I find ChinesePod far less flexible and adaptable without this function, more of a generic product to which its students must adapt, rather than a product which adapts to the differing needs of its students. I am somewhat surprised not to hear more from other poddies bewailing the loss of the labelling function. Which brings me to my second question. Am I missing some other way of achieving this? Does everyone else have some way of sorting the lessons to their own requirements that I have missed? If so, please let me know. Thank you, Daena

Is nothing going to happen with this? We haven't even received a response.

Everytime I end up on the website now I just end up furiously clicking back and forth trying to find one simple area where I can manage the lessons that I've studied and the ones that I haven't. I know some people prefer to just jump from lesson to lesson, but that's not really my style.

February 11, 2013, 07:19 AMHello. I thought I would have a last attempt at pleading for getting the labelling system back. Take New Year as an example. I used to have my own little set of lessons that I could quickly consult to revise useful phrases and vocabulary. Or if it was someone's birthday, or if I needed to talk about being ill, and so on. I also had sets of lessons mirroring topics in the paper course book I sometimes use, and a set of fun lessons to share with my children. Now I have to painstakingly search through the ChinesePod lessons, not necessarily finding those I want, not being able to see my sets at a glance. I realise that you have a 'course' entitled 'New Year' but it is not the lessons I had selected, nor do you have 'courses' for each and every one of my particular needs, with lessons I have chosen at my level. Surely there are other poddies out there that miss this potential to personalise their use of the site? I am surprised that no one at ChinesePod seems to see this as a loss to the wonderful service offered by your great site. The podcasts are fantastic: topical, fun, and very instructive. The team are amusing, interesting, and very helpful. But without the labelling system, you have, in my opinion, lost something of your ability to adapt to the differing needs of each individual poddie.

February 12, 2013, 01:42 AMI personally have not used this feature. But it is easy to understand that it can be very useful for many users. It must be very frustrating that this functionality was suddenly removed. And unfortunately nobody from chinesepod staff cares to comment the above feedback. This lack of communication is one of the few things I do not like about chinesepod.
