How to type traditional characters?

I have been typing simplified characters for a few years now. For the first time ever, I need to type traditional characters as well. I went under the language setting on XP and tried to set up a "Chinese(Taiwan)" IME. No matter what keyboard I have tried, it types English. I want to type traditional characters using pinyin. Anybody got an idea what I am doing wrong?

PS: I still want the option to type simplified.

Select 新注音 in the language bar. Open its properties window (内容) from tools (工具選擇). Go to the 鍵盤 tab and change the input method to  漢語拼音. Next select the general tab (一般). And select traditional characters!

To tell the truth, I couldn't figure out your method. However, I was able to figure out a way to type traditional characters. Thank you for trying though!
