I joined chinesepod about two weeks ago and I've decided to post to let the community know i'm here! (I know I should have done this as soon as I joined chinesepod but I have been spending my time going through the lessons) I am an Australian Born Chinese (cantonese background) currently working and have grand ambitions to one day work in china or do business there. I know some mandarin already, learnt it way back in high school, and what I feel I am lacking the most in my chinese ability is speaking. So if you have any tips on improving speaking let me know!
See you guys on the forums!

Some advocate shadowing...listening to the dialogues and learning them to the point you can say them in sync.
The obvious tip is to just take every opportunity to speak it in real life situations with native speakers. This may not be so easy depending on where you live here. Good luck and looking forward to hearing how you get on :)
