Skritter is a great third party tool we integrated to the site. They do all their own tech development. And they will be the best person to answer your question. But like Bababardwan said, they are planning to do an iPhone app. I am not entirely sure of the timeline though.

I'm not sure if my reply is going to tell you anything you don't already know, but here goes with a partial answer to your question. Skritter that you directly subscribe to is currently working on developing a skritter app for the iphone. But appaz this is a huge project and thus will take a long time and they cannot give an eta on that. CPod is partnered with skritter so the CPod site has basic skritter functionality. But I guess your question is will you be able to use that CPod skritter function on the iphone/ipod touch in future. Good question. So I guess this question is for CPod but I think skritter themselves might be in a better position to answer it [so you could consider directly asking them about it] and may not know themselves at this stage, but it will be interesting to see if you get an answer. If you don't get an answer here but get one from skritter it would be great if you could pop back here and let us know.

June 19, 2011 at 02:54 PMIf you want to learn to write characters I suggest getting a separate Skritter account. ChinesePod is also integrated into Skritter, so it is easy to add the vocabulary from a given CPod lesson to your practice list with just a few clicks. I also suggest getting a writing pad, such as those made by Wacom, as an input device for your computer. I think you will find writing with a stylus on a larger area more satisfying than using your finger on an iPhone. If you want to start with iPhone right away though, check out Pleco, which also has handwriting recognition and can be set to quiz you with flashcards where you write the response in Chinese characters.
