Hi Joachim, I seem to recall watching this clip for the first time... somewhere in the early 80s! It came out just at the time when relations between China and the US were warming up. That's one of the many reasons why I love Sesame Street so much...
That little girl is so, so, adorable. It was nice to be reminded of her again across all those years.

wei1xiao4: Sure, even Sesame Street can be a bit politically incorrect - and geographically incorrect. :-)
Maybe, it's more naive that politically incorrect on purpose. I can't say how old the clip is. I'd nevertheless guess that it wasn't produced in the last few weeks...

Oh my God she is just adorable! Although I also love Sesame street, I must confess that I cringed a little at some of the references made by the first clip. Is it possible that even Sesame Street can be a bit politically incorrect sometimes?

April 30, 2008 at 04:53 AMHi again, Joachim and wei1xiao4. I've just looked it up quickly in Wikipedia, and the date given for the release of "Big Bird Goes To China" is 1983. If the clip is indeed 25 years old, then I am impressed by it's PC-ness. Cheers.
