skritter mouse really slow

Started using skritter again the other day and it was working fine. Trying to use it just now and it's extremely slow to respond to the mouse ,even though the mouse is working fine on the same page moving it around outside the skritter area. So it seems to be a skritter problem rather than a mouse problem.

oK, well it finally seems ok now. Maybe it took a very long time to keep loading in the background or something while it had loaded it's first words and that slowed it right down. Anyone else had this problem?
