Meetups - ?
Joachim
November 09, 2007 at 08:40 AM posted in General DiscussionThere used to be some meetups with Aric or Jenny joining in, e.g. London and Sydney/ Australia.
Does anyone have plans for meetups in the US, UK, Canada, continental Europe as a whole, France, Germany, Australia - you name it?
Do meetups help, anyway?

Joachim,

Eventuell ließe sich also etwas arrangieren :-)

yea, to drink might help in many ways... ;-)
as for meetups around Germany, I´d realy like to have one (or two, or more ;-) ).

I don't know if meetups "help" anything, but they do create an even stronger sense of community. I've been part of a music-related online community for more than 10 years now, and I think part of its strength and longevity can be attributed to the fact that we get together once a year and drink a lot and embarrass ourselves.

Yv,
I am not bearing the academic title of a professor (which is always associated with the position of a full/tenure prof in Germany) .
But Basel is indeed a 3 hour train ride from Stuttgart and (or 5 hours from Cologne). It would come at no additional costs for me because I got a flatrate for German trains (can go up to Basel Badischer Bahnhof). But if Joachim joins, we should maybe meet in the middle, e.g. in Cologne...
