September 20, 2010 at 03:27 PM posted in General DiscussionI just took the placement test (which I think is great), but noticed that I got one wrong because I used 什 instead of 甚.
Nobody really uses 甚 anymore ... is there anyway to correct this in the tests so that it uses the more widely used 什? It's a small thing, but every little point helps! Thanks.

Another "typo" on the traditional character Level Test:
5. 我有一只_____。
That 只 should be 隻,correct?
Also, two more wrong because of the use of 甚. There's no way to make my IME type 甚 instead of 什,so it'd be great if that could be fixed. Thanks.

March 06, 2011 at 06:38 AMHi Cpod,
I just took the placement test again. I'm getting killed on the Dictation section! But that is mostly because of the way that section is graded. And I've also noticed another "out of use" character being used in the correct answers.

[ Could you please make the answers "gender-neutral", so that both 他 and 她 are correct? ]
13.

[ It looks as if perhaps you guys changed the answers to have the more commonly used 什. However, I still noticed some of your questions use the older 甚, that's why I used that one this time. Perhaps do the same with 他 and 她,make both 什 and 甚 acceptable. ]

[ This was a weird one. If you could hear the audio, you would be able to clearly hear a distinct 這個 at the beginning of the sentence. ]
[ Does anyone use this 裏? I think it's a pretty outdated version of 裡. If not, maybe make both acceptable. ]
Anyway, 5 "incorrect" answers out of 25 makes a big difference. That's 20%! It would be great if someone could take a look into these and fix them.
Thanks!
