July 5, 2007 at 4:54 PMHi, really enjoying the lessons, but I really appreciate when there are 10 questions per exercise, not just 4. The exercises really help one pay attention to comprehension without all the translations, pinyin help (if doing it in characters) etc, and when there are only 4, much of the vocab (and my potential problems/areas of needed improvement) get missed. As always, I find the expansion sentences to be VERY helpful in drilling the vocab/characters/usage into my brain. Great stuff.

But in the expansion, third sentence under "gei", it sounds like she is saying "wo mei you gei ta" where as the characters just say "wo mei gei ta" (which is way harder to say). Which is right? thanks

July 3, 2007 at 3:54 AMJak is right, a full year later it still says "Wo you ta de zhao pian" is "I don't have her photo" in the expansion of "zhao pian". I realise that was 2006, but us new subscribers are methodically (or not) going through the archives and it would be nice to have the errors corrected that have already been pointed out. thanks.

July 3, 2007 at 12:36 AMIn this lesson's expansion, a couple of the audios have their start cut off: the first sentence "hao ke ai" is missing the "hao" and under "nu er", the last one is missing the "ni de" from "ni de nu er zhen piao liang", under "shi", the "t" is missing from the first "ta shi" and the "wo" in "wo bu shi" is chopped as well: just seems that the microphone wasn't turned on early enough, or edited too tightly. Well, you can tell I am REALLY listening (and repeating out loud).

July 2, 2007 at 11:49 PMIs it my bad ears, or in the expansion, does the audio say "wo mei you jie hun" (under "dan shen") whereas the characters say "wo mei jie hun"? Do we need to sort of say a "you" in there? thanks for all this great vocab, from another dan shen gal!

From the number of Chinese here in Montreal, I would say that a lot of people, including Chinese, want to move to Canada.... however you are right, way more people WANT to move to Canada than actually can. :D Great lesson. And I want to say that after only a month with premium, I picked up some kids' picturebooks and could make out so much more of the meaning! Thanks!
