you-all are excellent. do not say 对边.

when the target face to face with you, you can say 对脸.  but when the target is a bit far,you can not say 对脸. 对脸 is not often used by Chinese.

another phrase is 对过（儿）. it is often used when one object and its target are separated by a street.for instance: 学校的对过儿是个餐厅。

another advice:don't use "靠" alone.

"靠" is foul language. like "fuck" in english.

I'm sure "靠" can be used in the vertical.moreover i think it can be used in every direction. but the sentence is a little wrong,it should be

鸟 在湖中间 靠着湖面飞（行）。

靠路边停车 is correct. 摊 here is a noun that means a small shop , not a verb.
