I am only at an Elementary listening level, but I learned from the Chinese Pod "Say It Right" Series that native-speaking teachers will often (consciously or subconsciously) use a different tone combination when they are emphasizing a particular word. In this case, Joy might be saying "January... January." So both pronunciations are correct, but the latter places more emphasis on that word relative the rest of the sentence.
