So could you also say 狗狗要打过狂犬疫苗针?
Also, Dilu mentioned in the podcast that 注射 could refer to 打针 or 吊针。
I think 打针 on its own most often carries the meaning of having/getting an injection. But the nurse might something like 给你打针吧 to you.

February 9, 2011 at 4:50 PM大 is indeed used to modify a lot of things. But I think you guessed correctly two things it's not used for. For accents I usually hear 重 (zhòng), which is quite convenient for us English speakers as we'd also describe an accent as strong. I think 浓重 (nóngzhòng) is also used, though I don't think it's as common (maybe more formal?). For alcohol, maybe 烈 (liè)?
