Good news is you don't have to be in a Chinese speaking country at all in order to get there.

March 22, 2021 at 1:36 AMStarted at pre-intermediate a couple of years ago, went through all the lessons all the way up to here.
Interestingly enough, it has really worked. I understand ~90% of the lesson and can comfortably follow along. Thanks ChinesePod and good luck to anyone out there just starting their Chinese learning journey - it's doable with relatively small consistent daily effort!
