州basically means district boundary and 洲basically means a land in lake ro river.

在中国"州"一般是指行政区域,而"洲"一般是指湖中和江河中的陆地.
另外我英文不好,有说错的地方请指正.

“干”和“操”的确是骂人用的脏话，相当于to fuck,不过“干”一般在南方地区用得比较普遍特别是在广东、福建一带。“操”在北方地区用的比较普遍，特别是东北和北京。中国骂人的脏话一般牵涉到母亲。我猜可能母亲在中国人的心中无比地位很高，侮辱一个人的母亲，是对这个人的极大的侮辱。
