Very interesting allegory. Things are what they are.
And thanks again for explaining the patterns of poetry, changye. It's possible to enjoy the poems without this depth of understanding, but this adds a whole lot of depth.

I like your teaching method. There are some things we can only learn by doing.
And I understand your concern about losing something in translation. My feeling is that even if we can never visit the moon, let alone understand its mysteries, if some kind astronomer will explain a bit of it to us, we will be richer for the knowledge.

You are right, 项目 is mostly used to mean “a project." But here it has the meaning of "item"-- in this example, blood pressure, lung capacity, and so on.
I left that word out because the English sentence flows better without it.

We have tried to improve constantly. Our listeners demand excellence. I'm glad you can see some improvement.
I have known some kitchens that it would be just as well not to see the inside of. The Chinese saying goes 眼不见为净 -- what the eye cannot see, it imagines to be clean ;-）
But in this case, poddies who provide useful feedback are like diners at a restaurant who lend the chef a jar of spices.

Good question. In Mandarin, certain words such as 这样 zhe4yang4 can take an "r" ending, so that it becomes "zhe4yang4r.
CPod's voice actors are from all over China, so that the poddies can be exposed to all different kinds of accents. The lady in this show is from the North, so she is accustomed to adding the "r" ending. Southerners generally do not add this.

我认为中国人对"创造” 这个概念一直有一些跟我们很不一样的想法。在中国写论文，老师们都鼓励学生多用一些成语表达意思，而西方的老师都很忌讳模仿别人的说法，很不赞同 clichés.我个人觉得有的成语还挺有意思，但光靠它们表达意思是不太可行的。
说到你那个学校领导层没怎么理你的事，我也有些经验。我在南京教书的时候，我们学校很多小孩儿都是小皇帝，小公子。父母都巨有权利，超有钱。我们学校连骂不听话的学生都不给我们骂。太可笑了吧。后来发现那个学校腐败的不得了，给不合格的学生写推荐信，帮他们出国留学。气死我了。 因为这些垃圾学生有钱，有关系，可以走后门进好学校，而更聪明但经济条件不好的乡下小孩就没戏了。
学术腐败这个问题特别严重。中国现在很提倡“素质教育。” 希望可以早一点把这个美丽的梦想实现。
