The把“ba”structure:
Subject + ba + Object + Verb + other
主语+把+宾语+动词+其他东西
zhǔyǔ + bǎ + bīnyǔ + dòngcí + qítā dōngxi
航空公司把我的行李弄丢了。
Hángkōng gōngsī bǎ wǒ de xíngli nòng diū le.

Wǒ bǎ shū fàng zài zhuōzi shang le.

I suppose the best we can do is run it up the flagpole and see who salutes!
*** I think cliches like that one are dirtier and more shameful than any profanity. But that's a minority opinion ;-)

I agree that "bullshit" is a more natural translation for 狗屁.
Actually, there are interesting nuances among the different kinds of shit--- "horseshit, chickenshit, bullshit." They are not interchangeable.
I argue that none of these terms are offensive. I oppose racial slang or obscenity that demeans women. But we should seek vividness and clarity in our language. These words are very useful.
But the CPod policy is generally to keep the PDFs and lessons a bit sterilized. The discussions on the boards often get rowdier.

Thanks for the info! Of course you're right-- Cinderella couldn't very well have been oppressed by her mother-in-law (in the modern sense) before she was even married!

There are a couple of ways to express the idea of overconfidence:
不自量力 bùzìliànglì means to over-estimate your own abilities.
过分自信 guòfènzìxìn means to be overconfident.
I don't know about an exact translation of chutzpah.
Neither of the above cases would work for a child who kills his parents and then begs the judge for mercy because he's an orphan ;-）
Great Yiddish words have made English so much richer.

If you have already made it clear what direction the person should be going in (ex: 右，左, etc.) you can just say 一直走500米. The 一直 simply implies that you don't need to turn, and does not say anything about the direction of movement.

If you are saying something like 一直往前走, then, yes, you can leave out the 面. But if you are saying something like "前面就是银行“ then you cannot leave out the 面.
As China began Reform and Opening in the late 1970s, a popular slogan/play on words was 一切往前看 -- look to the future in all things (i.e. don't think too much about the past). But some wags turned this into the identical sounding 一切往钱看.
