你看着办 is a classic phrase. It often implies a bit of anger or "well, Mister Smarty-pants, let's see how you do it..."
It would not be appropriate for a teacher to say that to a student.

Of course! It's great.
Hi all,
Money laundering, tax tricks and clever accounting are great topics of discussion here. You may be surprised how often they come up in conversation and daily life.
Hi waitingroom,
Good points. I will make sure they get to the people who can act on them.
The word is jiǒng, but it is rare enough that I am not surprised that it doesn't show up in IME.

May 8, 2009 at 6:00 AMHi jonjar1979
Thanks for a good question. There are slight differences in meaning.
你說呢 implies “please give me your suggestions or advice."
你决定吧 means "go ahead and make the decision."

May 8, 2009 at 3:49 AMHi heimama,
啤酒 came to China only very recently (about a hundred years ago.) But the Chinese have thousands of years of drinking culture.
Like in many other countries, the earliest hotels were more like taverns (酒肆 jiǔsì, 酒樓 jiǔlóu). You could be sure to get some booze to warm you up.

May 8, 2009 at 2:42 AMHi ewong,
Until recently this character was extremely rare. Now, it is being used in Internet chat rooms, forums etc. because it looks like the modern "frowny face" emoticon. People use it roughly as they would the emoticon :-(

I love your icon. 囧 (jiǒng) is an extremely popular character these days.

天下乌鸦一般黑 -- all crows are black. This is a pretty negative way to describe the similarities you observed among religious practices ;-)
Hi 3333
Glad to hear it!
Hi thinkbuddha
龙 is a workhorse of the Chinese animal kingdom.
- 龙虾 "dragon shrimp" are lobsters
- 恐龙 "fearsome dragons"are dinosaurs (or ugly women!). Compare this to the origins of the English word "dinosaur"-- terrible lizard.
- and 飞龙 "flying dragon" is the pteradactyl.
And of course, the Chinese people themselves are 龙的传人, the descendants of the Dragon!

May 7, 2009 at 3:32 AMHi miantiao,
你跟這個人講道理簡直是“對牛彈琴。” 很多糞青沒事干就來惹別人,我們跟這種人沒什么話好說。
Your time is too valuable to waste on someone like him :-)

May 7, 2009 at 2:14 AMHi sebire,
我觉得“我没拉你“的意思是 "I'm not pulling you" - 应该是"我不拉你"还是"我不在拉你"? 是不是这里"在"不必要的?
Thanks for an interesting question. In this phrase, 沒 definitely indicates that the action did not occur, not that it is not occuring.
我不拉你 would mean that you will not pull the person in the future.
我不在拉你 means "I'm not pulling you."
