October 21, 2007 at 11:59 AMI love these C Pod soaps. It helps the language stick. how about; Yang Jie and Wang Wei go to the library. She realises he's got a wonderful personality. He dumps Li Yan (aw). Li Yan and Yang Jie fight on the roof of a high building. Li Yan falls. (eek) Up to now Wang Wei has kept his secret identity of superhero (Nerdoman)away from both girls but now is revealed, cape flapping as he rescues Li Yan from certain death. I expect they are all bound to meet up with some Nijas at some point before this love mess is resolved.

September 24, 2007 at 7:42 PMin the expansion exercises 'what are they laughing at?' is 他们在笑什么？in the dialogue, 'what are you laughing at?' 笑什么？am I right in thinking you don't need 在 in the second example because no pronoun is used?

September 5, 2007 at 6:52 AMAnother great lesson : ) I have two questions; the guy said 我喜欢你啊 the second time. Does 啊 change the meaning in a subtle way? Also is there a way to say leave me alone that is less strong than 走开?

August 29, 2007 at 6:38 AMb00458, I'm a Newbie/Elly and am still slowly uncovering all the delights that are Cpod. For the first time I plucked up the courage to look at a more advanced lesson (drawn by some inexplicable force no doubt...)and used the cursor translator in the dialogue page. This way I got all the fun out of the dialogue. The rest will come in time I hope.

August 21, 2007 at 7:08 PMI'm training to be an English teacher and have learned that it's good to hear speech at varying speeds including faster than your current level. If you only hear at a comfortable, comprehensible level your learning is apparently slowed. I found this information helpful. Now when I hear speech as fast as in this podcast I relax and listen to the music of it, hoping to pick out the odd word. Prior to this my brain would fog over and I would dismiss the sentences as too hard for me. Now I subject myself to films and songs in rapid Mandarin and enjoy the experience. 安宁
