If you are going to use Skritter, better invest in a quality writing tablet for use with your pc - using the mouse or the touchpad on a laptop is NOT even remotely close to writing characters with a pen or pencil. I like the wacom bamboo tablet (the $70 one works great for me.)

I have noticed a variation in a couple of lessons now which is a bit a confusing to me. In the podcast, xīngqī is clearly pronounced as I would expect it to be. However, in the audio review, the speaker pronounces it almost like 'xīung qī.' I also noticed this with the word qīng (meaning light) in the First Tone lesson; again the podcast pronunciation is as I would expect, but in the audio review it is pronounced almost like 'qīung.' Can anyone explain this?

Apung, read your first sentence again, you have an extra 'the' in there. Sorry but I can't resist correcting someone when they're correcting someone else...

I noticed in the earlier discussion there was mention of difficulty seeing the chinese characters on this site. In case anyone is still having that problem, note that in most internet browsers you can hold down the control key and press + to increase the zoom or - to decrease it (make everything appear larger or smaller, respectively.) You can also scroll the mouse up or down while holding control to get the same effect - try it.
