tal, I'm sure the comment was artfully put but I fail to grasp the gist of it. I'm not really sure where the avatar-less issue comes into it... unless you particularly want to communicate an air of impermeable clique.

@Matt_c, no it's intermediate all right. Basically what I did was to look at them in order and then try find the first one where John shows up instead of Ken :)

I grabbed five in a row and that's my experience so far. It's quite far removed from this lesson. I'm not suggesting this is a huge problem, I guess the track just evolved a bit. In fact... I quite enjoyed playing a couple of them through since I commented above, just to try grasp what I can.

I think the change might have happened sooner than I expected because actually one of the five I downloaded (0188 having a drink) was nothing like the first I listened to.

Anyway, I'm very pleasantly surprised. I don't think the taster stuff I listened to on the site prior to kicking off a trial really did chinese pod justice.

Who knows, I might even make an avatar. Golly eh?

Hi there, I'm giving Chinese Pod a first spin. I found the elementry stuff too basic (and to be brutally honest I don't think I could listen to Ken on a protracted basis), so I jumped into Intermediate.

I thought I'd start from the first lessons in the archive. Woah, entirely in Chinese where the discussion is astronomically more difficult than the actual recorded dialog. I just listened to this one though and it's spot on - very different!

Was there some point in the past that intermediate shifted to this easier/lower level?Just having some difficulty figuring out a good point to jump in.
