So how do you know what the upper limit is? Like in Amber's example (一百多块 yībǎi duō kuài), how do you know the shop lady is saying between 100 and 200, and not between 100 and 1000? 哈哈 I prefer Amber's pronunciation of Abacus :p

I know this stuff is the extremely advanced stuff.. I barely can understand Miss Jenny's comment, let alone the dialogue.. but is it possible for the PDF to include English translation or is this not enough benefit?

Ok.. So a quick question.. If I want to buy a packet of smokes, I will say "I want a packet of Peter Stuyvesant, red, big packet".. Can I just say: wǒ yào mǎi Peter Stuyvesant de hòng dá Or is it more complicated than that.. also I am struggling with where and when to use the "de" particle.

If you don't eat McD's, Amber.. what do you eat for that taste of home?

Why not make your own audio CDs with the lessons you want on there? Windows Media Player, and a lot of other media players will burn audio CDs directly from MP3 files.. or if you are one of the lucky people to have an CD player that is compatible with MP3, just load your CD with MP3s..

Well I just downloaded it and it is definitely the Cell Phone one. You have to skip the bit at the start because they are looking at the previous lesson's dialogue. This is definitely not only about Cell Phones.. this is why these lessons have been remade because they strayed off topic a lot and tried to give too much information in one lesson. Not that it is a bad thing to have lots of information and other examples of usage.. but when it goes off-topic, it can be a bit counter-productive.

哈哈 hāhā I love the last bit of the dialogue.. the lady is obviously annoyed at the end because you hear her sigh before she says that she really really really doesn't want it.. haha.. it's great and realistic sounding. I really love your shows, it always brings a smile and laughter to me. When I am feeling down, I only need to switch on a Ken and Jenny Show and I am happy again! :) I'm a little curious about 要 yāo/yào though. When used by itself it is 1st tone and means to ask/demand, however when used with 不 bù it becomes 4th tone and means, at least in the dictionary I have, "don't!" or "must not".. I'm curious how becomes the meaning "want" in this context. Also, how would one use the word 需 xū? I'm sorry.. I am just terribly confused by the constructions in this lesson from my meagre knowledge of 普通话 pǔtōnghuà (mandarin).

滚蛋 gǔn dàn - Go Away! Might be ok if the person is really pestering you, perhaps? If that's the right expression of course. I may be confusing it with something else. Also.. if you don't want to be pestered in the first place.. don't make eye-contact.. this works in every city.. :)
